Medical Care Centre Radiation Oncology Department

to the MCC's Radiation Oncology Department at the Klinikum Bremen-Mitte hospital.

We invite you to get to know our team and the range of services we provide.

Our outpatient department is located next to the Surgery and Radiology main building. Our inpatient ward (ward X/1) is directly adjacent on the first floor.

Radiotherapy treatment of malignant or benign diseases, as well as combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy is carried out in close cooperation with the surgical and non-surgical departments of Klinikum Bremen-Mitte, neighbouring hospitals as well as specialist practices and primary health care practices in the region.

Interdisciplinary radiation oncology care is provided on the basis of national and international standards and guidelines using modern equipment and techniques. Current treatment concepts are discussed and agreed at regular tumour conferences. The radiation oncology outpatient department and radiotherapy clinic participate in many treatment protocols recommended by expert associations and the German Cancer Society.

A tailored treatment plan is drawn up for each individual patient, based on the medical findings and specific patient needs. This plan is then explained and discussed in detail with the patient and family.

The care provided to outpatients is further supplemented by the option of inpatient care in our ward X/1, which is jointly run by medical and nursing staff. Two homely and artistically designed family rooms provide accommodation for family members.
